Required Los Angeles Eating – Tacos

great tacos near Miracle Mile and Hancock Park

don't miss this taco joint

Whichever neighborhood you live in or are looking to move to, once you get past the street or house style of choice the most frequent question is “what restaurants are in the area”. Like most Angelenos, I travel for food, especially if it is good. So to kick off this blog I will start with a Southern California requirement… an authentic mexican taco spot without having to travel to Baja or Boyle Heights. There are a few great ones in West Los Angeles, but today let’s focus on one to the south of both Hancock Park, Windsor Square, Miracle Mile and Longwood Highlands. Head south to Washington Blvd and to the east of La Brea Ave and you will find a hip commercial corridor lined with the Nate Holden Performing Arts building, several production companies and a few clothing companies nestled behind some warehouse walls. At the corner of Rimpau try Taquerio Jalisco (Jalisco’s Tacos) 4755 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016. This is the real deal, no lard, small soft corn taco with several varieties of home made hot sauce to whet your appetite. They server spicy pickled carrots and radishes with perfectly cooked pinto beans. For more info read up on Taqueria Jalisco at Yelp or The Great Taco Hunt.
